Welcome! I am glad you are here. You are taking a brave step in your healing journey by reaching out. We will walk through this journey together.
Individual therapy will allow us to explore your unique story and work towards healing in the context of a safe therapeutic space. I offer specialized care in the treatment of trauma, eating disorder spectrum, and complex relationship issues.
I use an integrated approach to therapy from a holistic evidence based lens that honors you as a whole person. I am certified in EMDR therapy through EMDRIA and additionally offer consultation to EMDR clinicians looking to be certified.
Sometimes people do not use the word trauma to label difficult circumstances in their lives but the effects that are experienced are often a result of the body being affected by a traumatic stress. These symptoms often look like anxiety and depression among other compulsive disorders such as obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), addiction, and eating disorders.

Couples seek therapy for many different reasons. We will work together to identify the best path for you and your partner. Couples therapy can be used to help heal the ways in which each partner has been wounded and strengthen the relationship. Or if you decide that is it best for you to part ways we can also work to help you separate well and honor the years you have spent together.
Before we begin our work together I will send you an evidence based assessment established by over 40 yrs of research through The Gottman Institute. This allows me to get a picture of the areas of strength and struggle in your relationship as we begin out work together. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

One of the fundamental aspects of my training that I value is seeing you and your symptoms in context of your story. One of the most influential systems in our lives for better or for worse is our family of origin. I often use family therapy to support the individual work we do when appropriate. I also work with subsystems of family members such as parent- child relationships - or the whole family if that works best.

There are many approaches to treatment and many ways to heal. I have found that the most authentic way for me to work with you is to collaboratively identify the underlying emotional cause of your symptoms so that we can work towards releasing those burdens.
The beauty of this type of approach is you are not your symptoms. Our bodies sometimes don’t know what to do with the pain we carry and this internal weight can come out in a number of ways that may not even make sense to us.
Often when we experience abuse, rejection, neglect, or ongoing negative experiences with those around us the result can be anxiety, depression, difficulty with sleeping, eating disorders, addiction, struggles with sex and relationships. I will work with you to identify the ways in which the stressing events in your life have impacted the symptoms you feel today and beginning the path towards healing.
