A bit about Stephanie.

Stephanie Godwin

LMFT #37FI00185300

Early in my clinical career I realized that many people had experienced a wide range of traumatic experiences and many of the modalities that are traditionally used were not effectively helping clients heal.

My passion for becoming a truly trauma informed therapist led me to work and study in San Diego, CA for several years. While living there I had the privileged of working at a group private practice with highly trained trauma therapists as I pursued my certification in EMDR therapy. In addition to EMDR I use an eclectic approach of body based therapies in my work with individuals and couples such as IFS, family systems therapy, and mindfulness based interventions.

I have many years of experience treating complex trauma and PTSD, individuals on the eating disorder spectrum, and complex relationship issues.

In order to truly treat the whole person I find it valuable to work with an interdisciplinary team and will often refer to dietitians, psychiatrists, and other body workers to support the spectrum of clients needs.

It is a true privileged to walk with you through your healing journey. I value meeting you where you are and creating a plan for your healing together.

Some non-clinical info about me

The west coast will always hold a special piece of my heart and I am a Jersey girl at my core. I am a proud mama of a beautiful baby boy and miniature labradoodle named Chandler- yes after Chandler Bing. I love getting my hands dirty in the garden and hate reading about plants so it is an interesting journey indeed!
